         I think the author's message they are trying to get to the reader is "do as you are told" or "when someone tells you to do something do it". One reason i think this is the message is because when all the other plants bow down their heads and tell the buckwheat to do it, the buckwheat don't bow down their head. As a result, the buckwheat died and the other plants lived. Another reason is since the buckwheat didn't do what they were supposed to, in return they died and all the other plants got a reward of good weather and life.
           The third boy held a ring in his mouth so hard that it gave a forth sound. The sound was very nice. Then later he became a great musical composer. The fourth boy he was the ugly person of the family. He must eat pepper and butter like a sick chicken. Then he became a poet and had the first kiss.
