In "Uber And Lyft Drivers Are Striking — And Call On Passengers To Boycott" It talks about how Uber and Lyft drivers are striking and are doing so by boycotting Uber and Lyft for 2 hours and protesting. This is because on minimum wage Uber and Lyft drivers aren't able to make a living, especially with the competition between all these cab drivers, and the fact they only get a fraction of what they make due to ride fees.
 +
This boycott happened because of Uber and Lyft had been taking away most of the money earned by the drivers, this had the drivers struggle more since they weren't making much money. Nusrat Nabila, a thirthy-year-old Uber driver said "Kinda like the big fish making all the money, and we being individuals, I'm at the bottom of the chain so I'm getting pressed." This shows how drivers struggle to already make money since they're giving away most of the money away to these companies. Due to this the NYC drivers are demanding that these companies stop this because they're being selfish, especially since Uber ranks in about 91 billion dollars.

With Uber and Lyft drivers not earning enough money, they're demanding an 'actually living wage'. Esspecially since their wages are getting lower, their 'competition's ' getting higher and their lack of security has made a bad experience for a lot of Uber and Lyft drivers. the NYC drivers association said, "Uber/Lyft going public on the stock market will make billionaires of Uber and Lyft bosses while drivers struggle in poverty and the companies destroy the livelihoods of drivers in every sector," . It shows how selfish these rideshare companies are and how they don't even care about their employees.

Dogs Use 19 Signals to Tell Us What They Want (article)

----

In my article, "Dogs Use 19 Signals to Tell Us What They Want", It shows dogs use Referential signaling to communicate with humans like apes which shows they're getting more intelligent and adaptable to their surroundings and learning to cooperate with them.

One example of how in the article it stated "Referential signaling is a type of gesture meant to convey a message without using words. Common among great apes, including humans, it’s the same thing that human babies use to get the attention of their parents. It’s rarer among non-primates" This shows that Dogs are becoming more intelligent because it shows that non-primates (dogs) are less likely to use Referential signaling which means dogs are probably becoming more advanced than most non-primate animals since they know something that's rarer among non-primates. This also shows that dogs are becoming more adaptable and probably learned this technique by observing their area and learning from it to get what they desire.

Also, another example of how dogs are becoming more intelligent is in the text it said "In the study, researchers took hundreds of videos of 37 dogs interacting with their owners in England. Reviewing the footage, the team identified 49 possible gestural signals the pets may have used to get what they wanted. Then, they whittled those down to 19 signals, which the dogs deployed in combinations to get their point across to their humans.  According to the study, the most common requests are, “Give me food/drink,” “Open the door,” “Get my toy/bone,” and “Scratch me!” This is one of the examples of how dogs are becoming smarter because it shows an example of how dogs are intelligent because it gives an example of how the dogs used body language to get what they desire to their owners, Also, it shows how dogs gotten the point across to their humans by combining body gestures to tell their owner something.

Another example is in the text it stated "This study gives evidence that non-primate species use referential signaling to communicate with unrelated species. For humans, this signaling is an important milestone in the evolution of speech" This shows that dogs are also getting smarter because dogs have proved non-primate species can communicate with other species by using referential signaling which is a big milestone for humans because it shows there might be a chance humans can learn to communicate with animals using referential signaling just like dogs did with humans.

The last example is that in the text it stated "preliminary studies suggest “dogs living with a larger number of people develop more gestures,” This shows that dogs are adaptable to is because it shows since there are more people living in the house the dog is going to learn faster since there's more to their surroundings, this also shows that since there are more people there's more to "say" so having more people means that the dogs develop more gestures since each gesture can be for specifically for someone.

Overall, This shows that dogs are getting more intelligent and adaptable of their surroundings since they learned how to use Ref annerential signaling which is rare for non-primates and has learned how to cooperate with humans which shows how adaptable they can be to their surroundings
