  Even with at least one third of his brain removed, a boy can still  participate in daily activities we do every day, This shows how adaptable our brains are. the boy started having seizures at the age of four. No treatments could stop his epilepsy, therefore surgeons removed a third of his brain’s right hemisphere just before the boy's seventh birthday. After the surgery researchers studied the boy and how he would be affected and react without his occipital lobe , which carries out visual processing, and most of his temporal lobe, which processes visual and auditory information. According to the research, three years following his surgery, the researchers could see which parts of his brain were able to recover. apparently the researchers found that his intellect, visual perception, and face and object recognition skills were all normal for his age. The only downside to the surgery is that the boy could not see to the left of his nose. The reason behind this is the boy had part of his brain's Left hemisphere removed which, consequently, caused him to only see out of his right eye. Adding on, researchers claim that the boy was only able to recover because he was still young and developing, as for older people, the same results seem unlikely.

A lake hidden underneath mar's south pole can potentially contain life

Recently, scientist have discovered water on mars- again. Apparently this new body of water was discovered to be bellow the red planet's south pole. One interesting thing about this body of water on mars, is that it seems to be a more permanent body of water. Scientist speculate that with proof of a  permanent body of water on mars, There can be micro-organisms that live in the water that could be similar to the micro-organisms that we find here on earth. With this new proof that there might be life on mars, humanity is one step closer to finding extraterrestrial life.

 A massive heatwave in the northern hemisphere is causing deadly wildfires, dry weather, and deadly heatwaves. A main contributor to this deadly heatwave is the Arctic. A new study showed that the Arctic is heating up twice as fast than usual. With unusual heat jet streams are being stalled, with these jet streams moving slower weather is supposedly becoming stuck in one place. In other words, stalled jet streams are trapping regions of high pressure that are cloudless, windless, and extremely hot.

 Zapping our brain with electricity can apparently reawaken old dream, improve depression, and even make people better at math. Although there are many benefits there are certain risks when doing this such as, faulty equipment or even people throwing fits of rage. An important question for this method of self improvement would be, is it safe? Even with all these risks scientist were not deterred. Wearable versions of the brain zapping device have already been under development and testing. With this new way of self improvement the main question, is it safe, still has to answered, but it may become a new way to improve ourselves in the future.

Business students are likely to have a brain parasite spread by cats

 In recent studies, people that study business are commonly found to have the brain parasite, Toxoplasma gondii. Toxoplasma gondii, is a brain parasite that people can get through contact with cats faces, uncooked meat, or contaminated water. At least one third of the population on earth has this brain parasite and are 1.7 times more likely to be majoring in business. A reason for this is that the parasite reduces a persons fear of failure and high risk, high reward type deals. Even though this parasite can seem harmless, it can lead to  slower reaction times, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, suicidal behavior, and explosive anger. Some see this parasite as "beneficial" while others may see it as another deadly disease.

New Photos of titan Shows what's underneath it's hazy atmosphere

 Saturn's moon, Titan is surrounded by an orange haze or clouds so we can't clearly see what's going on below the clouds. Although the clouds may block out visible light, but the clouds lets some wavelengths of infrared light through. Using infrared detectors allowed a space craft named, Cassini, to pierce the veil and peer right down to the frigid moon’s surface, revealing its rolling dunes and oily methane seas. With Cassini ending it's voyage by crashing into Saturn, the photos taken by Cassini may be the best photos we can get for now.

Mind controlled robotic arm allows you to do two things at once

 An experiment with a mind controlled robotic arm showed that eight out of the fifteen participants were able to grab a bottle with the arm and move a ball around a tray. With varying results scientist produced the conclusion that people that can multitask can control the arm while doing something compared to the people struggling to control the arm due to the fact they can't multitask very well. With these results scientists concluded that the mind controlled grabber arm would be more efficient with factory workers or for people with jobs that require multitasking. With the mind controlled arm, it can make jobs easier when heavy loads need to be lifted or if someone needs a hand. With mind reading technology still being fully developed the arm still has room for improvement but for now it can still help people get the job done.

Gene-edited products are to be classified as genetically modified organisms. in the EU

 In the EU products that are gene-edited would now be considered GMOs or genetically modified organisms. Gmos are usually the products of life forms that had their genes edited by experiments conducted by scientists. Even now certain plants that we eat or grow from seed packets are gene-edited. Back in the 1990s, biologists started genetically modifying organisms by adding extra pieces of DNA, usually from entirely different organisms, but they were unable to control where this DNA ended up. This caused very different results in their experiments and started to attract the attention of the EU. Later In 2003, the EU introduced a rule requiring that organisms created by this form of genetic modification undergo extra safety testing and be labelled, but this rule specifically excluded those created by mutagenesis. , or animals that were mutated naturally. As a result there were mixed feelings for this new rule, nature preservers agreed to this rule while biologists, on the other hand, were disappointed and called it a step backwards and the exact opposite of progress.

 Some people think that space in a cold and dark vacuum where no life can survive, but bright colors can be seen even from here on earth. Using specialized cameras and telescopes, two people took many pictures of outer space and even the other planets. Multiple pictures revealed that space is more active than we think, One picture even shows the sun's role ropes of plasma that seem to spill out from the giant star. Another picture reveals that the moon is littered with craters and streaks of dust. Pictures were even taken in the artic to show the aurora borealis which is caused by charged particles that are blown by the sun towards Earth. Thus pictures of space can show us that activity is all around us, even in space.

Wireless Lights inside the body can kill cancer

 A new device that emits light can supposedly cure cancer. This device is used for Photodynamic therapy, in this therapy the patient takes a drug to make his or her cells vulnerable to light. Then the doctors shine a light on the tumor for 10 to 45 minutes, or they use a flexible tube called and endoscope if the tumor is located inside the body. Adding on, sometimes the tumor is located on an organ that moves, thus making the Photodynamic therapy much more complicated. But Toshinori Fujie at Waseda University, Japan, developed a device that can be put between two sheets of sticky paper. When this device was experimented on mice the results were that this device worked and functioned properly. Thus making photodynamic therapy a way to finally cure cancer.

 Robots and AI were first believed to take the jobs of half the American work force and one third of the jobs in the UK, but further research points the other way. Frist of all, with automation, It will be expensive to cover and more job positions would be available due to lack of cost, but more spending. Adding on, present day research now states that only 10 percent of the American work force would be affected, and only 12 percent of the UK work force would be affected. Thus, with new evidence, We can safely say that robots and AI might give more jobs than they take.

New foldable grabber arm can capture fragile sea life without harming them

Harvard created new foldable grabber arm that, unlike suction or claw-like grabbers, Can capture even fragile sea creatures such as jelly fish and their relatives without harming them. This foldable grabber arm was made by Zhi Ern Teoh at Harvard University in Massachusetts, Zhi and his team made the foldable grabber arm to capture fragile sea life without damaging or harming them. With this new technology researchers can study sea life underwater and allow them to get more interesting results. The Harvard team is even trying to add additional hardware, such as 3D scanners and DNA swabs, to examine creatures whilst inside the foldable grabber. This new grabber arm can help researchers and scientists alike study and examine sea creatures in their natural habitat and avoid harming them.

parents shouldn't worry about the amounts of borax in the children's toy, slime. Borax is a chemical that is used in slime making as an "Activator" to fully complete the slime recipe. Borax and other boron compounds are considered non-toxic at low levels and the average adult eats at least a milligram or two each day since borax is commonly found in many food items we eat. Adding on, even if we eat or consume borax, it does not accumulate in the body unlike heavy metals such as lead, you urinate it out within the same day you consumed it. Also, the only way to get sick by borax is to consume at least 5000mg of borax per day, thus unless the child consumes 5000mg of borax per a day, they should not get sick. Therefore the chemical, Borax, is not a true danger to children with slime.
